“We are all the same inside” was Burger King’s message during San Francisco’s Gay Pride Week this year. This “experience marketing” action, held in one of the main Bay Area Burger Kings, invited people to try a “new product,” launched for a limited time only called the “Proud Whopper.”
It was a campaign that changed minds and hearts in the deepest ways.
This campaign got over 1 billion media impressions, 7 million views, 450,000 blog mentions, and became the #1 trending topic on Twitter and Facebook in one week.
The wrapper says, “We are all the same on the inside.”
One lady said shes never had a burger make her cry.
This is a deep campaign. With all the controversy and mass murders going on due to Gay Pride, this hit deep. Especially recently, since that club in Orlando was shot up. I am all for what you believe in and what you feel. Be you and do whatever makes you happy. No one should be discriminating against how one should feel. This was a great and creative approach to a campaign.
