Social Media Must Haves

Social media is a huge part of business today. Companies need to have a strong social media presence to be successful. Author, Yasmin Bendror, shared 5 social media must haves in order to be efficient, resourceful and efficient.

  1. Consumers are social. Being on social media is a must. — Relating to our campaign, it’s great that Squeeze is on social media. They have a Facebook, Twitter and Instagram account. Bendror explains that you don’t have to be every single social media platform in order to be successful. It’s important to choose which ones suit your business the best. I think Facebook is a great way for Squeeze to share upcoming events and information about their business. Instagram is perfect for Squeeze to share their pretty foods and drinks.
  2. Consumers are visual. Incorporating images and videos are a must.– Squeeze has a blog but Amy stated that they don’t use it regularly. Once the blog is up and running, it will be key to incorporate eye-catching visuals that can hook the reader. People won’t want to read the content if there’s nothing to look at visually.
  3. Consumers are mobile. Having a responsive website is a must. — There’s nothing worse then trying to look up a business on your cell phone and the website is unresponsive. It makes it hard to find the information you’re looking for. Quite often if the website isn’t working for me I will move on to another site. I find Squeeze’s website to be very responsive. It’s easy to reach all the tabs and grab all the information you may need.
  4. Consumers are hard to reach. Paying for exposure is a must. — Bendror states that spending money to advertise online can earn you the biggest return. I’ve noticed the Squeeze does advertise on Instagram because I’ve seen their sponsored posts on my newsfeed. This is such a great way to reach new followers and get your brand name out there. If they haven’t done so already, Squeeze should begin advertisements on Facebook.
  5. Consumers are searching. Being on Google My Business is a must. — Google My Business allows you to get more traffic by tying Google Search, Maps and Google+ to your business. If Squeeze could register to Google My Business they could reach so many more people especially by using Google Maps.

Squeeze already has completed a few of these must haves but by incorporating the remainder, they could really take their social media and business to a new level!

    I love your post. I completely agree that social media is a must these days whether you are a big corporation or using it personal/professional use. It’s able to keep everyone in the loop and is such a big part of our culture right now. Social media is going to keep growing with our generation and I think will continue to be an essential part of being companies success. I personally did not know about Google My Business but that’s great that companies can take advantage of this and even give organizations. Great connection that you can suggest using it in a campaign!

    This is a very informative article. Social media is expanding as it becomes must haves to businesses. As a consumer, I know how these facts apply to real life, and as a future communication staff, I see how they would affect the effectiveness of organizations or companies’ reputation and selling. Technology is changing everyday, so these are good tips to help us be more interactive to customer.

    This information is a must in this day and age of telecommunications. I recently started an internship that deals with political campaigns which have strict deadlines, and I was amazed at how fast paced everyone is through communication. My boss could be on 3 conference calls, responding to an email and simultaneously making dinner plans. I have really come to envy people who can communicate so well, and the tips in the article should help improve anyones businesses social media needs.
